Latest Updates from Our Project:

Another stretch goal, game features, poll closing soon, and What if World shout out!
about 1 month ago – Thu, Feb 12, 2026 at 06:06:02 AM

We've reached another stretch goal!!

Lyla will now be part of the writing team, creating a whole new mystery for the game!

So far, we have 6 pre-made mysteries going into the zine (both physical and digital), and I'm thinking we can add a few more too.  Our next stretch goal writer is Dan from Almost Bedtime Theater, and I'm curious to see what he has planned!

Formatting highlight:

With this update, I also want to talk about one of the main features of Mystery Snacks, which is our formatting.  Thanks to some wonderful work from BoRyan of Gravy Press, we have a fun cookbook style layout to help with following the "recipe" for the mystery!

Each section is grouped in a way that helps you hone in on what part of the adventure you're referencing, and our breakdown includes what I have always seen as the core elements of a mystery - a good hook, interesting suspects, intriguing clues, dramatic challenges, and a satisfying reveal.

Feature on What if World:

This week, Mystery Snacks is in the mid-episode spot on What if World podcast!

What if World is a storytelling podcast for young audiences where action is driven by dice rolls!  I've played a game on one of their episodes before, and they are some cool folks.

Check out the episode here:

Poll closing soon:

Later today, the poll for my Zinetopia 1-pager will be closing!  There's a couple options that are pretty close, so cast your vote today to help pick what bonus game will be part of the Zinetopia collaboration zine AND going out to all Mystery Snacks backers as an extra bonus.

I'm planning to have another update + poll on Monday, so until then, thank you for your continued support and... happy gaming!!

Vote for what game you want me to make + Feb zines highlights
about 1 month ago – Mon, Feb 09, 2026 at 06:33:01 AM

Hi all!

Mystery Snacks is over 200% funded and still going with another stretch goal on the horizon.  While we're waiting to see just how many more mysteries we will be able to add, I want to see what you all wanted me to make for the Zinetopia bonus 1-pager!

There's a poll attached to this message where you can vote on what I'll be submitting for the Zinetopia collaboration zine.  In addition to this 1-pager being part of the collection, I will also be sending this free to all folks who have backed Mystery Snacks at any tier.

ALSO... I did a highlight on other kid-friendly TTRPGs that are funding this month on various platforms, and I hope it helps you find some cool games while supporting other indie creators!  You can find the post here on the TTRPGkids website with a bit of a teaser graphic below in case anything catches your eye right away:

Thank you for following along, please make sure to vote for our 1-pager, and... happy gaming!!

Another new mystery funded and more on the way!
about 1 month ago – Fri, Feb 06, 2026 at 02:51:43 PM

We hit stretch goal #2 for Mystery Snacks!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Please help me in welcoming Jaclyn to the project, and I'm looking forward to seeing what mystery they devise for us all to solve!

Also, we are well on our way into funding ANOTHER stretch goal mystery, this one by Lyla!

Each goal reached helps us to improve Mystery Snacks for everyone and bring the XP from more folks onto the project, so thank you all for your support!  I am happy to be making a more lengthy book for you all and excited to see folks wanting to check it out.

Keep an eye out next week because I'll be sending an update on Monday with a poll that will let YOU all decide some details for the 1-pager TTRPG I'm making for the Zine Month collaboration project (and that I'll be giving out free to all of my backers for this project too).  Until then, have a good weekend!

Happy gaming!

Stretch goal achieved, last chance for early bird, next goal, and collab!
about 1 month ago – Wed, Feb 04, 2026 at 05:44:47 AM

Hi all!

Last night, we reached stretch goal #1!

I'm excited to welcome Kris (aka Omnis) to Mystery Snacks!

We now have 4 mysteries that will be in the project, and our next goal is to add another new adventure from Jaclyn!

Also, there are only a few hours left to back the project and get the early bird reward!

If you back both Mystery Snacks AND our partner project, One Page TTRPG Bundle Vol 2, at at least the $1 teir before the early bird bonuses run out, you will get the following extras:
  • [1] 1-page TTRPG from TTRPGkids (collab bonus)
  • [2] 1-page TTRPGs from La Lionne Publishing (one collab and one early bird)
  • [1] Recipe from TTRPGkids (early bird bonus)

I'll be sending out another update as Stretch Goal #2 gets closer or is achieved, and... happy gaming!

Thank you,

Mystery Snacks is funded + stretch goal #1 details!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Feb 03, 2026 at 04:55:53 AM

I'm happy to announce that Mystery Snacks funded yesterday!

That means that the project IS happening - we're able to cover art and layout costs plus the baseline print run.  Thank you for the support thus far in making this happen!

Next up, we want to add more to the game, starting with extra mysteries for you to play.  Our first stretch goal is to bring on guest writer, Kris (aka Omnis), to create an all new caper-solving adventure!

Each new mystery unlocked will add to both the physical and digital game, and funds raised will cover paying our writer, the page increase to the book, and increasing the number of copies we can print to accomodate the expanding campaign.

Please help spread the word so we can add to the game you've backed, and if you haven't checked the project out yet, please do!

Thank you!
